Awesome Results!

January 27, 2008 / by hopefields

Well, many of you knew that I was expecting a new hearing aid.  It finally came in late last week.  I think I've had it for maybe four days now.  It's amazing!!!  I haven't heard this clearly in years.  I can hear the crinkling of plastic.  I can hear my children whispering.  I can hear the t.v. better so I don't miss out on much.  It works really well for me.  It is digital and has the capability of like a microphone, so when I put the phone up to the top of the hearing aid, I can hear who I am talking too pretty clearly.  It also has the capability of alerting me when my battery is low, to be able to mute the sounds around me (such as a baby crying), and lastly, the capability of tuning out background noise.  Many older models of the hearing aids come with a great deal of background noises, such as static.  However, this new digital model has the capability of tuning out the background noise, which makes it easier for me to hear those talking to me.

I just love this new hearing aid.  When I take it out at bedtime, I notice a drastic change in my ability to hear.  I'm so thankful for the new aid!

Congrats on the ability to hear! I reminds me of a funny story about my dad. He finally got his hearing aid and like you was so very happy. However, he and my mom took a trip to Idaho--driving all the way. Now, my mom was a talker--you know the kind that never has to take a breath. After being in the pick-up with my mom and his new hearing aid, he took it out and never used it again! My dad was such a sweetie. Rather than have to confront mom or get angry, he used passive resistance.Wink
