Blog

April 7, 2008 / by hopefields

I have been trying for several days now to post something here on blogster, but it is moving so slow and often ends up not connecting to blogster.  I have some friends here at blogster, which is why I haven't completely given up on this site.  I first started blogging here at blogster and posted over 1,000 articles and posts.  This site was awesome before all the changes were made.  Now, it is difficult for me to access this blog site, as well as my own blog.  So, for those of you that want to read my articles, please go to http://greasy.com/hopefields/ and read my articles and posts there.  I will continue to try to post here; however, I will not stress over it.  If I'm not able to connect or it is crawling, I will simply not post here at that time.  I am not coming against the team at all with this post.  It is just getting extremely stressful trying to post and connect here and not being able to.  I blog for fun.  I blog to write.  I simply don't want the stress while trying to blog.  I will still come to blogster and check on my blog, when it allows me to.  I will also do my best to read the blogs of my online friends here, again...when it allows me to.  I hope everyone's day is going well.

In this case, supposedly it was not Blogster's fault for being down.  Because of all the problems in the past, this latest outtage became just one more frustration to deal with and possibly the last straw for some people.  However, this recent problem appears to be un-related to any of the problems Blogster had before.

All sites go down or experience problems (or are subject to) from time to time, and that's most likely what happened to Blogster over the weekend.  There was some sort of a surge that caused the problem.  Whether the problem was the same reason or not, Blogster was not the only site down or experiencing problems over that same time period.

I, too, tried to use Blogster during that time.  I accessed it ok and started writing a post that ended up being lost.  Then I found I could access Blogster and stay on the site, but nothing would open for me to see.  Then I lost connection to it completely and was unable to reaccess at all.

Throughout this time, I also discovered that yahoo mail was down.  I have even more catching up to do in there, so I figured I'd take advantage of Blogster's situation and clear up some old mail.  I accessed it, read one email, wrote a reply to it, but it didn't go anywhere.  The reply was lost.  And, from that moment on, I could not access my mail account anymore.

Heck with it all, so I went to pogo to play some games.  Oh, they worked fine, but talk about slow!  It took forever for games to load...it even took forever to close games.  I was lucky that the games I chose to play did work ok, but I saw "chatters" stating that they only had half screens, their games kept freezing up, and some games wouldn't even open.

So, I know you have been frustrated and growing impatient, but this particular problem wasn't really Blogster's fault.  This same thing could very well have happened (or could happen) to greasy or any other site, for that matter.  I guess what I'm trying to say is, I would just hate to see you leave because of it because I love reading your posts and enjoy seeing you here.

Yes, I can go to greasy to read your posts, but I happen to have problems with greasy.  It is so difficult for me to do anything there, typing and editing are beyond explanation when it comes to the problems I encounter, so I have problems with greasy the way you have problems here.

What's happening, though, is that I'm being put into the position of having to go over there to read posts because that's the only way (and place) where some of my friends are now.  But, will they all necessarily come here to see me and read my posts?  I know some do and will, so I don't really mind going to greasy to see them, but it's an awful lot of back-and-forthing and a little extra work because I actually do have to originate all of my posts here.  Then I can copy & paste there.

I just don't want to miss your writings.  They are excellent, thought-provoking, pieces that inspire me and interest me.  I hope to continue reading them here because this is the blogging site I spend all of my time on but, if you are ever going to just use greasy exclusively, please notify me so that I will be aware of it.  I don't want to lose access to your posts.

Donna, thank you so much for your thoughtful response.  I will continue to try posting here when I am able to access it.  When I post something on Greasy, I will try to post it here as well, for you.  Thank you for your very kind words about my writings.  It means a lot to me. Kelli
