I want to clarify something about my post titled, "Like Bees to Honey." It was never my intention to cause some people to feel as though I believe that being a Democrat makes me a better Christian. First of all, in my opinion, a person is a Christian because they have invited Christ into their lives. It has nothing to do with what political party they belong to. However, I have watched as some Republicans harshly come against people because of their sexual preference. Others harshly come against those that have an abortion. I don't believe that Jesus would attack people on certain issues. I believe he would talk to them much like he did the woman at the well. As far as abortion, I have my own beliefs on that topic. For instance, what if a woman is raped? Must she then carry that baby to term? I don't believe so. I have said all along that I'm new to the topic of politics. I don't expect everyone to feel as I do. Everyone is entitled to what they believe. However, I have observed, again in my opinion, that there are those Republicans that feel they have a right to do certain things, or say certain things, to protest some issues. I have also noticed that the Republicans have cut important programs or took away funding that was necessary. So, yes, this year I will be voting democratic. That doesn't affect my faith, no matter what. I hope this brings clarity.

Well stated. And, yes, we all know that Jesus, even when in the company of sinners, embraced them as brothers and sisters. Remember it was Jesus who discouraged the casting of stones. This is why I can actually be saddened when religion is used to accomplish exactly the opposite. If someone has a different opinion, then so be it. But, don't claim that it's the love of God or living up to His teachings as the reason.
Thank you for understanding. again, you put it in words I struggled to find.
Jesus wouldn't be a democrat, republican, or an independant.

That's right!
I have never thought we are supposed to argue politiccs or religion or to be more specific ,the Bible.

yeah, I don't think we are supposed to argue them either, but it happens all the time because of differences of beliefs and opinions.
I have always felt as Hazel--They are emotional issues in which discussions can turn into ugly shouting matches. Many arguments are cloaked in a morality guise when really it is intolerance or hatred motivating them. I understand exacly what you have said and are saying.
Thank you for reiterating what I was trying to say. I also think it is intolerance and hatred. It's so sad. I know we don't live in a perfect world and that this world will always know this type of behaviors (intolerance and hatred)...but I also believe that people can change if they want to.
I hope that as you get more informed in politics you will become more adept at seeing both sides of any issue. Everything you've said about Republicans is equally true - if not more so - of Democrats. My first suggestion for you is to learn the difference between Christian charity and socialist redistribution of wealth.
