Obama

February 21, 2008 / by hopefields

I am certainly not as educated on the candidates as some of you are; however, from what I've read on the candidates, I will most likely vote for Obama. I like what I read under certain issues. It seems he will come into the election with more than just promises. I also like the fact that he seems to be a family man. Like I said, I'm not as educated on the candidates - but I feel pretty good about voting for him. Maybe some of you that are more educated on this can help me to become more educated.

Though many wouldn't agree, I favor Obama too from the information that I received from Southewesterngrad.

He really does seem to be the best candidate.  I like his stance on several key issues.

My only real concern about Obama is the limited experience he has had in many of the areas a president must deal with and keep in balance, although that is not always a sign that someone will not be successful.

I do think that a president's job...the political job that it is...must be a rather "dirty" job to do, no matter how cleanly you try to do it or how clean you try to make it.  I don't think he's dealt with or been as exposed to a lot of the things (and people) that make the business of politics such a dirty job to do, so it might be difficult to pull off a lot of what he aims to do or believes the situation will be that he projects he'll be dealing with.  For this reason, I have some doubts.

However, this could also be an advantage....1. He hasn't been "dirtied" yet, so he will be resisting the usual temptations and "politics as usual", 2. Others with more experience may know their "way around" better, but it doesn't mean  that they are going to do the right thing or a good thing in a situation (and their reputations/records may suggest this), and 3.  He is bringing, in my opinion, more good and positive goals into the "picture" than some of the other candidates are.

So, although I have not completely made up my mind yet, Obama is definitely one of my favored candidates.
