He Doesn't Have to Be Taken Out

July 5, 2006 / by hopefields

I have been thinking of this topic today for some time now.  Recently, I keep seeing things or hearing things to indicate that some are trying to remove God from our schools, government offices, state offices etc.  However, when I hear some make statements that essentially accuse others of trying to take God out of certain institutions in our country, I don't see that they can take God out of anyone.

God isn't something that people can add to something or remove from something.  Granted, there are some who don't believe in God the way that others do.  But, do we really believe that by taking the statement of, "In God We Trust," off of our currency, that it means we are no longer able to believe?  On the contrary, those who believe in God are still able to believe just as they always have.  Regarding the judge that had the ten commandments posted in his office, they may have gotten the plaque that listed the ten commandments out of his office, but they didn't remove God.  They can't remove God from the judges heart.

Think about it.  God doesn't live because of statements on our currentcy, signs on our churhes, prayer in our schools etc.  God lives in us. He inhabits those that believe in him.  While some might succeed at removing papers, plaques, trophy's etc., they cannot succeed at removing God from the hearts of his believers.  It's the beauty of our freedome on this very day that we celebrate our freedoms.  You see, they might be able to take down crosses on display, but they will never take down the cross that lights up the believers heart.

As long as there are believers, God will get his message out one way or another.  Do I support taking, "In God We Trust" off of our currency?  No.  But, honestly, folks, we must choose our battles.  Everyone has battles daily and some they choose to fight while otehrs they choose to let it go.   Everyone has the choice to believe what they do.  Yet, it's not like the government can come and take God away from us.  They can't.  Okay, so they took down one judges ten commandments plaque.  So they said no one can teach God to the children in school.  But can they really take God away from us?  No, they can't.  Not if we choose to cling to our beliefs and allow God to move through us.

The children at school are still free to talk about God.  Even though they can't pass out papers about church and suck, but no one can take away their freedome of speech, as a child.  The lawmakers that have plaques and such in their offices, while they don't have anything visibly on their walls pertaining to God, no one can take God out of their hearts and make them stop believing.

I sincerely believe that just because they want phrases about God removed, isn't reason for anyone to panic.  No one can ever take God out of our hearts.  It's our freedom of religion to choose how we will believe and who we will believe in.  It's also our freedom of speech that says we can talk about our God.  People don't have to like it, and some are in hate of it.  But, that can't stop us from believing in what we will.

(When I mention 'us' in this article, it essentially means my family and friends that I know believe in Jesus.)

Your post, has just 'pricked my memory'. When I was in school, from the infant stages, through 'the juniors' and eventually 'secondary school'. Religion, was a compulsory form of education. As I moved through the various stages of education, the lessons altered in 'description' i.e.
Scripture/R.I/R.E. But, one thing, remained 'constant' ~ they were, all,
    'Bible Lessons'.
When, my 'youngest' boy, was in school (he left 'Secondary' school, in 2002, where religious education is compulsory), I recall, being very, surprised with the 'homework' for the subject. There was 'nothing' about the 'Scriptures', God, Jesus or 'Heaven'. The education, he was receiving about 'R. E,' Comprised, mainly of 'Other Cultures', which to my mind at that time, reminded me of the 'Geography' lessons I, used to have. I asked Ceiri, if he was taught, anything, about the Bible and God, he replied "No." !!!
What 'more' can I add ??? [THUMBDOWN]
